Weight Management After Swimsuit Season

Let’s face it: Losing weight is difficult, and keeping it off isn’t easy either. B vitamins

Oat beta-glucan

Because oats contain soluble fiber, oat beta-glucan can help you feel fuller at the end of a meal. Fiber is the last nutrient to break down in the digestive tract, making it a hunger blocker for those who find it difficult to stop overeating. Additionally, oat beta-glucan helps slow digestion overall, which allows the enzymes in your intestines to properly break down sugar into monosaccharides and moderate its absorption into the bloodstream.[2]

Omega-3 fish oil

Omega-3 fatty acids have been found to improve insulin sensitivity, suggesting this nutrient can contribute to keeping a healthy weight. Researchers at François Rabelais University put this to the test by monitoring the diet of six volunteers. The individuals first followed a controlled eating regimen of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Ten weeks later, they followed the same diet portion of dietary fats were substituted with fish oil. By the end of the study, the participants saw no difference in energy intakes. They did, however, notice a reduction in fat mass after taking the fish oil.[3]

Relying solely on vitamins and nutrient fortification will not help you lose weight. A weight loss plan must also include healthy eating and exercise. That said, vitamins and fortified foods can set your body up for success so you’re swimsuit ready all year round.
